Home to the largest collection of mortar holes in North America - 1,185 bedrock mortars carved by Miwok women over thousands of years for grinding acorns into flour. Petroglyphs surround the grinding rock. The Chaw'se Regional Indian Museum showcases Central Sierra Miwok culture. A reconstructed Miwok village includes ceremonial roundhouse, bark houses, and traditional gardens. Spring Big Time celebration and fall Acorn Festival bring together California Indian dancers and artisans. Nature trails wind through oak woodlands.
