Spectacular 6,000-foot granite spires tower over the Sacramento River canyon, creating one of Northern California's most dramatic landscapes. The Crags Trail climbs through forest to the base of these ancient plutonic formations, offering views of Mount Shasta. The park's 4,300 acres encompass diverse forests from oak woodland to subalpine fir. Excellent rock climbing, fishing in the Sacramento River, and swimming make this a multi-season destination. A geologic wonder between Redding and Mount Shasta.
